Blender Mold Making Tutorial for Beginner ================================================= Hotkeys: F to fill face Ctrl + X to disolve edge, face, vertex H to Hide & Alt + H to UnHide X to Delete edge, face, vertex Alt + N (flip normals) Ctrl + N to enable N number of subsurfaces P to Create New part from selection in edit mode I to inset whole face & I + I to inset individual faces Pointers: 1) Turn on View Normals 2) Be Sure to ALWAYS Solidify Even Thickness 3) Duplicate A LOT & organize in new collections 4) Turn auto-merge on with snap to vertex to quickly fix bad topology 5) Blender default cube is 2mm x 2mm 6) You want roughly 0.5mm offset each direction for resin printing Square Planter Using Edge Flow: 1) Create Planter & make sure inner edges are slopped 2) Duplicate & solidify shells 3) Duplicate & face delete two halves of mold 4) 2mm x 6mm male groove & 4mm x 6mm female groove 5) slightly resize & boolean on grooves 6) create base & export Sphere Planter Using Edge Flow: 1) Create Planter & make sure inner edges are slopped 2) Duplicate & solidify shells 3) Duplicate & face delete two halves of mold 4) 2mm x 6mm male groove & 4mm x 6mm female groove 5) slightly resize & boolean on grooves 6) Fix topology problems 6) create base & export Heart Candle Mold Using Solidify & Boolean: 1) Make primitive in tinkercad 100 x 100 x 50 mm 2) clean up primitive in Blender & attach 2mm wick 3) Orient model & think about the casting process 4) Solidify 2mm mold shell & lower resolution remesh 5) Boolean hollow interior & cut 6) 2mm x 6mm male groove & 4mm x 6mm female groove 7) Remesh, scale, & boolean groove onto mold halves 8) Attack legs, clean up, & fix any issues
