This Blender tutorial for beginners works with 3D modeling, texture maps, material nodes, and data from NASA's Scientific Visualization Studio. Specifically, we use 2D images created from data assembled by the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter camera and laser altimeter instrument teams, and wrap these 2-dimensional images around a 3-dimensional sphere in Blender.
